Large-scale Russian Strikes Disrupt Electricity In Ukraine's Capital

During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were hurt while residents in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and faced problems to water systems, according to local authorities.

Simultaneously, a minor was fatally injured in a distinct Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the southern area, according to regional authorities.

Moscow has intensified assaults on electrical systems over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "concrete actions" from allies to apply pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not window dressing but strong steps - from the United States, Europe and the major economies - in delivering air defence systems and enforcing sanctions," he wrote in a social media post.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty rockets targeted the country's power systems, characterizing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were working to restore power.

A barrage of missiles hit electrical systems and apartment buildings in the capital.

Multiple people wounded in the attacks on the city have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by local officials.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region came under heavy assaults overnight. A seven-year-old child was killed and three other people were injured.

The attacks come after periods of aerial attacks in the region, portions of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to detect.

Authorities told reporters that Russia was intentionally trying to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already affecting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and officials were anticipating more assaults.
