A revitalized the Russian player secured his initial championship for over two years with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.

Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has had a difficult season, managing just one match at the big events and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his serving in specific - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and eventually parting ways with long-term mentor his previous coach.

Now collaborating with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - peaking in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over opponent Moutet.

It is the player's maiden trophy since the Rome competition and initial on a hardcourt from March of that year.

The win also indicates the Russian has secured twenty-one victories at twenty-one various events.

"For the first time I am participating in a event with my two daughters at once, so to secure a championship is really nice," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my older daughter her name was born was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his previous six title deciders, featuring in Halle previously this season.

The player's counter-punching strategy and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had led commentators to doubt if his skill to compete at the elite level was concluded.

However the player has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and perform assertively, reinforced by an improved service.

Medvedev fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the difficult opponent, winning four of the final five points to gain the advantage.

Both players traded break points in the following set before the challenger, bidding for his initial tour victory, seized the initiative to force a third set.

Moutet defended 4 initial chances in a close final set before the Russian won the break to 15 to serve for the match.

Appropriately, Medvedev secured the title with a shot at the net, with Moutet incapable to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
